World premiere of Ailis Ni Riain’s latest work – The Consequences Of Falling

Heather Tudor and myself will be giving the world premiere of Ailis Ni Riain’s new work ‘The Consequences of Falling’ at Manchester’s iconic Band On The Wall, this Saturday, 12th January. The piece will be one of the highlights of Delia Derbyshire Day, an international conference to celebrate that lady’s achievements as a pioneer of electronic music composition, her international status amongst women composers and for her ground breaking work with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. It will also be 50 years since Delia Derbyshire recomposed some of Ron Grainger’s material, added some of her own and arranged it as the original Dr Who Theme.
