A Recording Session with Igor Stravinsky

I came across this amazing footage of a recording session, conducted by Igor Stravinsky, of The Soldier’s Tale from 1955. It was filmed by Columbia Records. I have just recently performed this 1917 work, on the cornet, with Ensemble 10.10 led by Anthony Marwood from the violin. My own teacher at the Royal College of Music, David Mason, had worked with Stravinsky quite a bit and would often refer to him when we studied the Russian composer’s work in lessons.
