RLPO TV Footage of the 150th anniversary in 1990

With 2015 fast approaching, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic will be celebrating the 175th anniversary of the founding of the orchestra and society. Here is a journey down memory lane…

Parry ‘I Was Glad’ with “Vivat Regina Elizabetha!”

The great Sir Charles Groves conducts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, and choristers of Liverpool Cathedral, in the Coronation Anthem ‘I Was Glad’ by C. H. H. Parry. From the 150th birthday celebrations of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is great to see so many familiar faces on this film. Some no longer with us in life and some having moved on elsewhere. Many of the orchestra still remain though. Enjoy!
