We don’t just have classical music concerts at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. We have jazz, rock, art, food, folk, speech… in fact something for everyone. Tonight was turn of Canadian author Malcolm Gladwell, promoting his latest book ‘David And Goliath’.
It turns out that Malcolm Gladwell, an inspirational speaker, was born in England to very academic parents, before moving to Canada at the age of six.
“Good writing,” Gladwell says in his preface to ‘What The Dog Saw’, “does not succeed or fail on the strength of its ability to persuade. It succeeds or fails on the strength of its ability to engage you, to make you think, to give you a glimpse into someone else’s head.”
Malcolm Gladwell on dedicated practice, “… magic number for true expertise: ten thousand hours.”
