Urban Farm – 5/7/2014

Everything is ‘going mad’ down on the urban farm. July is certainly the time when hard work comes to fruition and platings finally begin to reach the table. So far I’ve had plenty of strawberries, salad leaves, some Charlotte potatoes and loads of herbs.

The courgette plants are showing big yellow flowers, concealing min-courgettes.

The beans are producing all those beautiful displays of bright red flowers and attracting a lot of bees, necessary for pollination.

The climbing pea harvest is well under way.

The tomatoes in the greenhouse are well on their way and look like producing a bumper harvest.

One of this season’s experiments has been growing cucumbers for the first time. They are showing plenty of flowers and little (so far!) cucumbers!
