Zelda – Played By Martin Winter

Zelda, by Percy Code is not heard on the concert platform so often these days. This great piece was once a must in nearly all brass band programmes. All the great cornettists had their own way of interpreting and presenting this work. None better than Martin Winter, seen here playing in the 1987 Granada Band of the Year competition…

The reaction to Martin’s playing by the great Harry Mortimer (himself famous for his interpretation of Zelda) is a joy to behold.
