Symphonia Domestica – RLPO

This evening will see our new stage and refurbished hall at Liverpool Philharmonic hall get a nice, big test as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra as we celebrate one hundred and fifty years since the birth of Richard Strauss with a performance of his massive Symphonia Domestica. This piece, depicting twenty four hours of family life within the Strauss household, is immense fun to play and just about everyone has some great solos to play. We will be squeezing eight horns onto our stage (pictured).10655444_857668417610682_5745691048604446330_o

“… If you could hear a sound from space, then it might well be the RLPO’s performance of the final movement of Strauss’ Symphonia Domestica.”

  1. Robin Bloxsidge says:

Really looking forward to this concert Brendan – bought a disc of the Adams sax concerto (with McAllister as soloist) as soon as this concert was announced and just love it (and almost everything that Strauss wrote!).

  2. Sandra says:

…well, the audience will only get the Waltz if they applaud loud enough to get a (surprise 😉) encore!
