Good luck to my good pal Paddy Byrne today as he opens his brand new restaurant, bar and meeting place on Liverpool’s Hope Street at 5pm. The new place is situated right next door to The Everyman Theatre, the Bistro of which Paddy ran for over forty years until the theatre bought it prior to the recent renovation. It is called The Pen Factory because that is what the building used to be!

I played trumpet when Paddy’s Bistro closed and here’s what CAMRA Merseyale Magazine says about the closure

Known Paddy as long as almost anybody I’ve known since I came to Liverpool – and that’s a very long time now! – and wish him all the best with this. You should have played for the opening!!
